Mr Cuddles Very Important Blog – No 6 Location: Manchester, England When I came to, I didn’t know where I was. I must have been hit by a boat and then fished out of the water. But how did I get here? I may never know. I could hear thumping music and dancing, and happy human laughter. When my eyes got used to the dark, I also realised why I couldn’t move my paws. I was in a huge sack and wrapped in paper. What was going on? I tore a teeny hole in the paper and peeped out. There were others wrapped up in the sack with me. Some were peering out of small rips in their wrapping paper too. “It’s a Christmas party!” squeaked a panda bear shaped like a hot water bottle. “We’re all Secret Santa presents hidden in Santa’s sack!” “Soon we’ll be picked out of the sack!” said a cat, attached to the top of a woolly hat! “I hope I’m chosen by someone nice! I don’t want to be worn by just anyone!” “Shh!” someone whispered. “They’re coming for us!” Suddenly a hand dipped into the sack, jiggled around, and drew one of us out. Each time another human hand came down, I wriggled to the bottom. None of the ‘hands’ felt right to me! Soon I was the last secret Santa present left..... Oh no! There was no escape! The last human dipped in his hand – right to the bottom of the sack. Yikes! Suddenly I was pulled out, and my Christmas wrapping was ripped off! Everyone was staring at me! “Oooh! He’s cuddly!” some of the girls said. Of course they ALL wanted me for themselves, but I clung onto to the tall human man, who’d picked me, as tight as I could! He looked nice and kind and just the sort of person I could train up! After the party was over, I ended up being taken to Him’s home, in a place called Eccles near Manchester. (Eccles is famous for its yummy cakes – so I knew that was a very good sign indeed!) Him was very friendly. He looked after me well. But of course I knew my mission was still to find Claire. So, the moment Him left for work each day, I sat at his computer and searched and searched on the internet until I found what I was looking for! Hooray! I am a genius! Now I was ready to put my very clever plan to work! To be continued....
